Indie Game Company

Studio MDHR Studio MDHR is a fairly new indie game developer with their founding being in October 2013 by two brothers Chad and Jared Moldenhauer who wanted to make a game that combined their love for retro arcade games and vintage cartoons which would eventually culminate into their main title Cuphead in 20 17. Studio MDHR is a company that was founded in Oakville Ontario and is reported to have around 20 employees at the moment with all of them working remotely. For their main game of Cuphead, it was reported that they used Unity engine to make the game with a very bare-bones budget of only what the brothers could bring together and a small amount of money they received from Xbox they were able to bring in an estimated 48 million off of Cuphead when it released. So far StudioMDHR has only worked with Netflix to produce a Cuphead show and other than that has been working on an expansion to Cuphead which was released in 2022 called The Delicious Last Course. Overall Cuphead is the bigg

Triple A Company

Square Enix is a company that I have mentioned quite a bit on this blog through my reviews of their games so it seems only fit to research more on just what kind of company Square Enix is. Square Enix is a video game production company that is based out of Japan with more than 4,500 employees in multiple different offices all over the world with those offices being located in Los Angeles, London, Paris, Hamburg, and their HQ in Tokyo as well as another office in Osaka. Since its inception in 1975 when it was originally known as Enix it would eventually merge with another game company Square Soft to become Square Enix which would quickly turn them into the huge company that they are today with its website reporting its net sale of 343.2 billion yen as of the fiscal year ended on March 31 of 2023. Due to the fact that Square Enix is the result of a merger, there are many different games that they have published so for the sake of time for this blog post I am only going to

Lead Programer

What exactly is a lead programmer, what is it they do, and what sort of responsibilities would that job title have? After doing some research into this topic this is what this blog post is planned to do. A lead programmer is something that is needed in any game that is getting made with their responsibilities usually being to supervise the game's overall programming team when building the game and implementing new features as well as helping with any programming problems that may come up during the development. Now being the lead programmer that would also mean that the responsibility of getting things out on time and making sure that everything works as intended will all fall to the lead programmer. While this covers the programming side of things the lead side of things may be something that would put people off of this position as after looking at many different sources it seems that there is also a large amount of management involved in the role with many companies looki

Final Fantasy XVI Review

Final Fantasy XVI Publisher: Square Enix Year: 2023 ESRB Rating:   M Platform:   PlayStation Genre : Action RPG Fun Factor:       By far the most fun part of Final Fantasy 16 would have to be the combat. While initially, it might seem that enemies are not taking that much damage you soon come to find yourself wishing they had more health due to just how many different tools and ways that those tools can be used to take down enemies. While the boss battles are quite enjoyable there are also points in the game where the level that you are in starts to open up and let you explore and pick fights with many different creatures which will end up being something that immerses you into the game even further. Learning Curve:      Due to the fact that previous Final Fantasy titles were mostly turn-based combat and Final Fantasy 16 makes the leap into the action game genre, you would think that it would be difficult to get into but the game starts off by letting the player choose between Ac

Final Fantasy VII Review

Final Fantasy VII Publisher: Square (Now Square Enix) Year: 1997 ESRB Rating:   T Platform:   PlayStation Genre : RPG Fun Factor:       When it comes to the fun factor I would have to say that I rather enjoyed the first couple hours of the game as it starts off with a cinematic opening that hones in on the player and allows for the player to take over and almost instantly get into a fight. This allowed for the game to have the feeling that you are skipping the tutorial but due to the difficulty of the enemies being lowered it also allowed for the player to take their time when figuring out the controls. Learning Curve:   Final Fantasy 7 had a weird learning curve as the battle themselves are quite simple for the start but the battle system does differ from the traditional turn-based combat that people were used to at the time. For example, pokemon has it set out where you get one turn and the enemy gets another and the person has the faster pokemon would be the one that goes f
